A BIRDWATCHER’S PARADISE

From a barley field when we first came to Branton, via gravel extraction, we now have a stunning amenity on our doorstep. A short walk from our cottages takes you down to the two lakes and a birdwatcher’s paradise. Sensitive planting has made for a very pleasant and peaceful walk round the outside of the lakes. A bird hide is also available for concealed contemplation of the wildlife. Birds seen include kingfisher, swans, wigeon, coot, tufted duck, cormorant, heron, mallard, teal, various gulls, black bellied Brent geese, greylag and Canada geese. Also, overhead, barn owl, buzzard, kestrel and sparrow hawk. It’s a fabulous place to relax and take in our beautiful countryside.
